Hooker's Sea Lions.

The name of a baby sea lion’s is pups. Sea lion’s live at the beach some live at the zoo. They change colours as they grow up from brown and blackish brown. The mothers teach them how to swim and find food.
The sea lions can get killed by whales and sharks when they are born in December  they have to be careful and get to a beach for safety. Once they were hunted for oil, but killing sea lions is now against the law because the government said so.

Some sea lions weight 400kg. Each December those who survive the sharks that are around will return to the Auckland Islands to mate and have their pups and to shelter underneath the Rata trees.
